  1. Another weird thing about the physics department: the people in the classrooms are simultaneously alive and dead at the same time, at least until you open the door and observe them.

      • That would certainly make the whole Schrodinger’s cat question more mundane: the cat is simultaneously alive and resting at the same time. That’s…just the natural state of cats.

      • Once upon a time many years ago there was a physics class held in a small classroom in the dark (overheads work better). The lack of light made it harder to see just how many of the eager-and-attentive students were actually awake.

        One of them (the one named after a houseplant? Perhaps.) got so much ‘rest’ that he went on to a decade’s worth of grad school in the field.
